Can't print coupons!?

I want to print coupons for groceries. But it keeps telling me to install an add on. Fine I do that,but then it tells me that I need to turn on my default printer. I checked that it shows that it is set for a fax. My printer is not a fax.It shows mine as ready but it's not checked (I guess to show it the default). How do I make sure that my printer is the default without messing up my printer. Also I can print, but when I do I have to select the HP 5400 (that's what my printer is) to actually print.
